Thompson Tuckered Out After Only A Week of Campaigning

democrats.org

Washington, DC- Less than a week after a lackluster announcement tour, former lobbyist turned GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson is already tuckered out. Instead of hitting the ground running and talking to voters about the important issues facing our country, Thompson is taking a break and does not have any events scheduled for today. Thompson, who is already playing catch-up due to his late entry into the race, has had a relatively light schedule this week making only scattered appearances. In addition, Thompson's campaign continues to be beleaguered by criticism that the campaign is low energy, boring, unimpressive and that he's not ready to put in the hard work needed to win.

"At his current pace, Fred Thompson will still be trying to catch his breath while voters are casting their ballots," said Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Amaya Smith. "Americans deserve capable leadership that's ready to meet the demands of the highest office in the land. So far Thompson is proving that he just doesn't have what it takes.".......
