White House renews veto threat against troop funding bill

WASHINGTON, (AP) -- The White House again says President Bush will veto rival House and Senate Iraq funding bills, even after Democrats made spending concessions designed to win the president's signature.

White House budget office director Jim Nussle said Thursday that a plan by House Democratic leaders to send Bush a bill without domestic appropriations that would bust his $108 billion request still wouldn't satisfy the president.
