A suspected bomb attack has killed dozens of people in Kandahar in southern Afghanistan, police say.
The attack occurred in the outskirts of the city, as people were watching a dog-fighting competition.
"It was a bombing but at this point we don't know if it was a suicide bomb," said an interior ministry spokesman.
No-one has admitted responsibility but the attack bears all the hallmarks of the Taleban insurgents, says the BBC's Jon Brain in the Afghan capital.
They have a significant presence in the area from where they carry out suicide attacks and roadside bomb blasts.
Last week, the Kandahar governor survived a bomb blast attempt on his life.
Last year, violence in Afghanistan reached its highest levels since the Taleban were forced from power in 2001, analysts say........
