KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) - A strong explosion shook Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar on Monday, but it was not immediately clear what caused it and if there were any casualties, residents and the interior ministry said.
The blast occurred to the west of the city of Kandahar, where more than 100 people, most of them civilians, were killed in a suspected suicide attack last week.
An official at the interior ministry in Kabul confirmed the blast, but said there were no further details on its cause or casualties.
