Two Iraqis went missing from a British Army training course a week before they were due to return to their war-torn homeland, the MoD said today.
The pair, a non-commissioned officer and a civilian interpreter, were on a day out at the end of a three-month course in Wales when they vanished.
Neither have been seen since last Saturday evening when they were on a “cultural visit” to Cardiff, an MoD spokesman said.
It is not known whether they escaped together as part of a pre-planned bid to stay in the UK and avoid going to back Iraq.
Both should have been at a passing out parade for Iraqi graduates at the Army’s Infantry Battle School, Dering Lines, Brecon, on Wednesday...
