Running of the Bulls Day 3

PAMPLONA, Spain — An additional 39 persons were injured Thursday, two of them seriously, in the second day of the traditional running of the bulls in Pamplona, rescue service officials reported.

A Spanish national was gored through the chest while a tourist from Ireland was gored in the left leg, with their injuries so severe that they had to undergo emergency operations in hospital.

The officials reported that five other persons also ended up in hospital in the northern Spanish city on Thursday.

The injuries to the 39 persons come after 60 people were hurt on the first bull run on Wednesday.
