Big news from Arkansas

Arkansas Rep. Mike Ross woke up to some bad news today.

Ross - one of the main people trying to block the public option - claimed that he's doing so because his constituents doesn't support a public option.

Here's the bad news for Ross: a poll released yesterday by Daily Kos shows Ross's district supports a public option, 47% to 44%.1 So why doesn't Mike Ross support a public option?

We want to make sure nearly every Democrat in Mike Ross's district will see our ad telling Ross to support a public health insurance option - and if he doesn't, we'll find someone else who will.

To do that, we need to raise $78,000 by the end of the week. We're very close - we have about $25,000 to go. Can you chip in $25, 50, or even $100 to push us over the top?

Mike Ross is fighting hard for what the insurance industry and the pharmaceutical industry want. His "changes" add billions to the cost of health care and hike up insurance premiums -- contrary to what he says.

By blocking the public option, Ross is ignoring his voters in order to protect his big-money backers in the medical-industrial complex.

Ross seems to have a history of questionably cozy relationships. Just today, Politico reported Ross made out like a bandit from the sale of his pharmacy. Ross pocketed over $1,000,000 from a company that stands to benefit from Ross's "ideas" on health care reform in just the past year.2

It's faux Democrats like Mike Ross who are standing in the way of real health reform. He'd rather pretend he represents the health insurance industry than Arkansan voters who put him in office in the first place.

You can make sure he gets the message: Ross needs to support a public health insurance option, or Arkansan voters will find someone else who will.

We need your help to put our ad on the air. Please donate now to help us reach our goal.

Thanks so much for your help.
