Republican veteran to nominate Obama

DENVER - Barack Obama's presidential nominating speech will be coming from a Republican veteran of the Iraq war.

Michael Wilson of Florida, who was an Air Force medic in the war, is scheduled to formally nominate Obama Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. It's a high-profile effort by Obama to reach out to Republicans.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will be nominated by three of her delegates, led by labor activist Dolores Huerta of California.

Obama's nomination will get three seconding speeches - from Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar and Reps. Artur Davis of Alabama and Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida.

Clinton's seconds will come from 19-year-old Jordan Apollo Pazell of Utah and Clinton volunteer organizer Denise Williams Harris from New York.
