"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams, (1722-1803)

Hillary Clinton's reply: McCain wrong
DENVER -- If the truth hurts, as John McCain's new TV ad about Barack Obama suggests, Hillary Clinton proposes that the truth is this: McCain is wrong on the issues.
Clinton's office is commenting on the suggestion of thatMcCain campaign TV ad that Obama "passed over'' Clinton in his selection of a running mate because she had spoken too bluntly about Obama's perceived shortcomings during their party primary battle.
"Hillary Clinton's support of Barack Obama is clear,'' Clinton spokeswoman Kathleen Strand said in a statement issued today.
"She has said repeatedly that Barack Obama and she share a commitment to changing the direction of the country, getting us out of Iraq, and expanding access to health care.
"John McCain doesn't,'' she said, noting: "It's interesting how those remarks didn't make it into his ad."
