WASHINGTON - Citing broad gaps in U.S. intelligence, the Coast Guard cautioned the Bush administration that it was unable to determine whether a United Arab Emirates-owned company might support terrorist operations, a Senate panel said Monday.
The surprise disclosure came during a hearing on Dubai-owned DP World's plans to take over significant operations at six leading U.S. ports. The port operations are now handled by London-based Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company.
"There are many intelligence gaps, concerning the potential for DPW or P&O assets to support terrorist operations, that precludes an overall threat assessment of the potential" merger," an undated Coast Guard intelligence assessment says.
"The breadth of the intelligence gaps also infer potential unknown threats against a large number of potential vulnerabilities," the document says.
Yes, hello,
ReplyDeleteIt seems that this is a left-leaning blog. I was once a very, very leftist younger person. It is inescapable that 9-11 was a gift of the Clinton administration, extended as it was from the feeble and embarrassing Carter administration. The words and story of Doris Miesner (possible sp) tell of the horrifying blindness of the former; the gutless weakness of the latter speaks for itself.
I feel lucky to be rid of the dark, blaming, hatful visions of the left. I have encountered no one more intolerant than the leftist, who claims to be such a bigtime free thinker. Time tells me I must go.
You should quit the Meth before it kills you .... I have seen others in your situation ... the outcome is never as it seems .....
ReplyDeleteIf you start thinking you are Jesus it's too late
A guy who seems to love chaos projects meth and Jesus in his attempt to be persuasive, imagining gross impoliteness in his attack mode to be somehow effective. I've noticed against my will, since I was once a leftist, that the left rarely fails to try to hurt, hurt, /or if they gain control; to kill unimagineable numbers of people as a sacrifice to their marxist god, Stalin being but one example, but one always excused. The hatred that corrodes their insides shows in much leftist writing. I had hoped for a civil exchange.
ReplyDeleteI see you are still on the pipe .... most addicts like yourself never quit until dead or jailed ....
ReplyDeleteGood luck
Remember when you look in the mirror and see Jesus .... it's too late
The guy insists upon his drug analogies. The weakness of a one track mind demonstrates itself therein. The shallowness of this guy's commentary contrasts greatly with that of those writers which he posts.
