BEIJING (Reuters) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Monday if North Korea continues to shun nuclear disarmament talks Washington and its Asian allies will have to find new ways of dealing with Pyongyang.
Rice, concluding a sweep through Asia designed to revive the negotiations, also gave her strongest hint to date that the United States was prepared to report North Korea to the United Nations should the talks fail.
``Obvioulsy, everyone is aware of the other options in the international system,'' Rice told a news conference in Beijing.
``Of course if we cannot find a way to resolve the North Korean issue in this way (through six-party talks), then we will have to find other means to do it.''
She did not elaborate.
