China Warns U.S. and Japan........

ISN SECURITY WATCH - China has warned the US and Japan that their security alliance should be strictly bilateral and not include Taiwan, which Beijing considers an inalienable part of the mainland.Chinese officials said any move by the US and Japan to include Taiwan in the alliance would “definitely arouse uneasiness” in Asia and “complicate the regional security situation”.

“The Taiwan question is China's internal affair and should by no means be deliberated in the framework of the security alliance between the United States and Japan,” Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing told a press conference on Sunday, adding that “any move to include Taiwan directly or indirectly in the scope of US-Japan security co-operation constitutes an encroachment on China's sovereignty and an interference in China's internal affairs.

”Li said the Taiwan question was the most sensitive issue in Sino-US relations and urged Washington to strictly abide by the three joint communiqués between the two governments. In those the statements, the US acknowledged that there was only one China and that Taiwan was a part of China.
